In today’s world Canada is the favorite destination for international students to study, gain some exceptional skills and settle. World class Canadian Universities and colleges provide an amazing study environment, and the learned faculties do their best to nurture your skills and help you to get set for an enriching career. However, to study in Canada as an International student you have to clear some hurdles and the main task out of it, is to get a Study visa.
However, If you come from a visa-exempt country (e.g. the United States) you will not require a separate Student Visa to enter Canada, but the student would certainly require a Study permit which can be applied and obtained at port of entry in some cases and at the nearest visa office in the country of residence too.
If you come from a country which requires an entry visa (e.g. India, Pakistan) you will have to secure both a Canada Student Visa and a study permit. However, if your course duration is less than 6 months you may not need a study permit.
When studies are finished and student has graduated from the course he/she opted, he/she may apply to get post graduate work permit by way of that you can stay and work in Canada for any eligible employer and in any legitimate occupation for a maximum period of 3 years. This work permit can help you shape your future by working and earning money as well as valuable Canadian work experience, or even exploring the Canadian job market for a permanent residence.
Once there is enough experience on your resume you can take a step further in realizing your dream of staying permanently in Canada and can apply for permanent residency, under a program known as Canadian Experience Class or Quebec Experience Class.
